1 min read

OSAGE BEACH, MO (The Lake Tribune) – The Osage Beach Police Department has released the identity of the pedestrian involved in the fatal accident on the eastbound Grand Glaize Bridge this past Wednesday. The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Zachariah Breeden.

The incident occurred when Breeden attempted to enter another vehicle that had stopped on the bridge with hazard lights activated. A second vehicle, driven by a woman from Osage Beach, swerved in an attempt to avoid the stopped vehicle but ended up colliding with it and striking Breeden. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lieutenant Michael O’Day provided the details of the tragic event and confirmed the identity of the deceased. The driver and passengers of both vehicles involved were assessed by emergency medical technicians on site. The driver, a passenger, and three children in the stopped vehicle, as well as the driver of the second vehicle, all refused transport to the hospital after being checked.

The Osage Beach Ambulance, Osage Beach Fire, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Lake Ozark Fire, Mercy Ambulance, and the Camden County Sheriff’s Department were among the agencies that responded to the emergency.

The Osage Beach community is mourning the loss of Breeden, and officials continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the accident. The involvement of multiple vehicles and the refusal of medical transport by the individuals involved add layers of complexity to the ongoing investigation.
