ELDON, MO (The Lake Tribune) — A UTV accident on private property led to the death of an Eldon man Saturday afternoon. Jimmy Burrus, 51, was navigating a hill in the 23000 block of Seals Road when his vehicle overturned multiple times, striking tree stumps and ultimately colliding with a tree before coming to a halt on the driver’s side.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that the accident occurred at approximately 4:15 p.m. Burrus, who was operating a 2020 Honda Talon, was tragically partially ejected from the UTV during the incident. He was not wearing a safety device at the time of the crash.

Emergency responders pronounced Burrus dead at the scene. His body was later transported to Lake Regional Hospital where the official time of death was recorded at 5:03 p.m. The next of kin has been notified.

This incident marks the second fatality for Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Troop F in April and the eleventh overall in 2024.
