Iberia Woman Charged With Murder and Sexual Abuse of an Inmate Gets a Trial Date
1 min readIberia, MO (The Lake Tribune) – Amy Murray, an Iberia resident facing serious allegations, is set to appear in court for trial settings on two separate cases. Murray, who worked as a nurse at the Jefferson City Correctional Center, is accused of having sexual relations with an inmate in 2018. She appeared last week in Cole County Associate Circuit Court, facing felony charges of sexual abuse and three counts of offender abuse.
In a separate case, Murray is charged in Miller County with first-degree murder, armed criminal action, arson, and tampering in connection with the death of her husband, Joshua Murray. Prosecutors allege that she poisoned him with antifreeze and then set their bedroom on fire.
Significantly, Murray’s next court date for the Cole County charges is scheduled for April 15th, coinciding with her pre-trial conference for the Miller County murder charge. This murder case is being heard in Laclede County, following a change of venue.
Previously, Murray’s trial for her husband’s murder, which was moved to Laclede County for impartiality, had been delayed, with a new trial date set for October 10, 2023. The case has garnered attention due to its complexity and the severity of the charges.
