Lake of the Ozarks, MO – Dock owners at Lake of the Ozarks and along the Osage River are being alerted about the upcoming annual winter drawdown. Brad Todd, Operations Manager at the Osage Energy Center, announced that this precautionary measure is aimed at lowering water levels to below 654 feet above sea level. The purpose is to mitigate potential flooding risks during the spring rains.

Dock owners are advised to prepare for the drawdown by taking several steps:

  1. Lengthen Dock Cables: This will allow docks to adjust and drop with the decreasing water levels.
  2. Use Dock De-icers: These devices are essential to prevent ice damage during colder temperatures.
  3. Inspect Hinges and Connections: Ensuring that these components are in good condition is crucial for dock safety and maintenance.
  4. Arrange Dock Supervision: For those who will be away for extended periods, it’s advisable to have a neighbor or a trusted person keep an eye on the dock.

For additional tips and information about the drawdown and preparing for winter weather, dock owners can visit Ameren’s website.
