1 min readCamdenton, MO (The Lake Tribune) – A quick response by a Camden County deputy using the FLOCK Safety system led to the arrest of two women on multiple charges last Tuesday. The system, which employs static license plate recognition technology, notified the deputy of a stolen white 2001 Ford F350 in the area near West US Hwy 54 in Camdenton at around 7:00 a.m.
The deputy located the vehicle in Casey’s parking lot and conducted a license plate check, confirming it was stolen from Ste. Genevieve County. Upon investigation, the deputy identified the occupants as Glenda K Whaley, 47, from Bonne Terre, MO, and Tina R Herron, 49, from Bismarck, MO. Whaley admitted to taking the vehicle without permission from a family member’s residence.
Both Whaley and Herron were arrested at the scene and taken to the Camden County Adult Detention Facility. Whaley faces a Class D Felony charge of 1st Degree Tampering with a Motor Vehicle with a $25,000 surety bond. Herron is charged with the Class D Felony of Possession of a Controlled Substance with a $50,000 surety bond, along with active warrants for parole and probation violations.
These allegations are merely preliminary charges, all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
