Driver Hospitalized After Motorcycle Overturns on Highway 5

CAMDEN COUNTY, MO (The Lake Tribune) — A motorcyclist from Hartsburg, Mo. was injured in a crash on Highway 5, Saturday afternoon.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Scott Akers, 65, was driving a 2002 Harley Davidson Softail Classic around 12:25 p.m. June 8 when he lost control on loose gravel. The motorcycle reportedly veered off at Seller Road, going down an embankment and overturning.
Emergency responders from the Lake West Ambulance quickly arrived at the scene. Akers was found with moderate injuries but conscious and alert. After receiving initial medical attention on-site, he was transported to Lake Regional Hospital for further treatment and evaluation.
