CAMDEN COUNTY, MO (The Lake Tribune) — A woman was taken into custody on Saturday after authorities reported she barricaded herself in an abandoned vehicle, prompting a SWAT team response.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, MSHP Troop F officers assisted the Camden County Sheriff’s Department in dealing with the situation in the Climax Springs area. The woman had barricaded herself in an abandoned vehicle in a wooded area and was reportedly armed at the time.

The incident began when Camden County deputies attempted to serve a felony warrant on the woman. The mother of the wanted subject’s boyfriend had reported that the woman was on her property Saturday morning, armed with a sawed-off shotgun, which she threatened to use on herself.

Given the potential danger, a partial SWAT team was deployed to the location. The specialized team was able to safely apprehend the woman without incident, and she was taken into custody.

No injuries were reported during the standoff. The Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Camden County Sheriff’s Department are continuing their investigation into the incident.
