Camden County, MO (The Lake Tribune) – Darrin Skinner, a 49-year-old former Camden County Sheriff’s deputy and school resource officer, is facing serious charges related to child pornography. Skinner, a resident of Camdenton, has been charged with two counts of possessing child pornography and 12 counts of promoting child pornography.

He was booked into the Camden County Jail at noon on Monday, December 18th, and is being held without bond. An initial court appearance for Skinner is scheduled for 9 a.m. Thursday, December 21st at the Camden County Courthouse.

The charges stem from an investigation that began on June 7, following a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding the possible upload of child pornography in Camden County. The investigation revealed that a social media account under the name “Robert Stone” on MeWe was linked to Skinner’s email address and was used to upload multiple images of child pornography.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol conducted a thorough investigation, initiated at the request of the Camden County Sheriff’s Office. Skinner reportedly admitted to owning the social media account and receiving child pornography but denied distributing any. Further evidence suggests Skinner uploaded over a dozen child pornography images.

The Camden County Sheriff’s Office has condemned Skinner’s alleged actions, emphasizing the high standards and trust expected of law enforcement officers. Sheriff Tony Helms, in a statement released in August, assured the public of his commitment to integrity and accountability within his office, stating that criminal behavior will not be tolerated.
