Hunter Biden Disrgards Congressional Authority, Walks out of Hearing Over His Recent Subpoena

This sentiment was echoed by South Carolina Representative Nancy Mace (R-S.C.), who criticized Biden for exemplifying “white privilege” and lacking the courage to face accountability.

Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-Ky.) sternly addressed Hunter Biden’s willful non-compliance with the subpoenas as a criminal act, constituting contempt of Congress. Comer emphasized the seriousness of the offense and the need for lawful adherence to the committee’s requests.

Despite his lawyers’ presence, Hunter Biden chose to leave the hearing just as Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene began to speak, further fueling criticisms of his evasion of accountability. The House Oversight and Judiciary committees are advancing toward holding Hunter Biden in contempt of Congress. This step is part of a broader impeachment inquiry into President Biden, primarily focused on Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings and the DOJ’s investigation into his alleged tax crimes.

Despite the controversy, Hunter Biden has maintained that his father was not involved in his business dealings. This claim, however, has not alleviated the scrutiny from House Republicans, who are committed to investigating alleged influence peddling during Joe Biden’s vice presidency.
